          Got up and had the breakfast buffet which was pretty good. It was  very nice buffet with lots of croissants  as well as breakfast yogurt and a variety of other stuff One of the better breakfast buffets.                          Didn't get going to about11:00. We were going to go on drive up and down the Thames. We had difficult with directions. The  traffic was terrible as it was backed up over 25 miles. I made the wrong turn and went down the highway to the southwest rather than to the west. It turned out to be okay because we then cut through backcountry which was relatively nice. A few times I would make a mistake and have to turn around which was a pain in the ass. We were trying to get to pick up the path around Eaton but it'll was getting more and more difficult, and it was hard for the GPS as it was a bunch of change  and it was having difficulty navigating. 
       So we then cut across country to go to pangbourne which was a nice little town. We then went to Henley and found parking. We walked into town could not decide on a place to  eat so we went back to the supermarket and got sandwiches. We then ended up at the river and sat in the car eating  sandwiches and observed the river traffic which is all very pleasant scene. We then were able to drive pretty much the Thames from Henley to morrow to cliveden. It was relatively pleasant but not quite the ride I thought it was going to be .However Wendy wanted to see the area and I believe she enjoyed it .We headed back to the hotel which was about an hour ride. Took an afternoon nap. For dinner went to 144 on the hill which was the restaurant in the hotel,which was terrible. The waiter was terrible. Wendy's food was barely edible-She had lamb. They were  out of the steak I wanted

camp tac 2

I am writing a bit out of sequence. I went to TAC  at the end of my sophomore year of high school. I believe the camp experiences very much changed me, whether for the good or bad would depend on how one views it. I changed a lot there and what I loved is it allowed me to change. I think prior to that I was very introverted and very unsure of myself. I became much more confident and perhaps much more egotistical. I became much closer with sorge  and osstroff less friendly with kaminski Paul Fisher. I always think of those are some of my better summers and loved my summers at camp. That  and my junior year abroad were to some of my favorite memories. Reading about it brings back very good memories. I wasn't writing that extensively and it was mostly just a paragraph per day.           We woke up and once again had a very nice buffet breakfast at the hotel. We then checked out of the hotel and drove on the London beltway to Golder's Green. We drove down the street checking out the kosher section of London ,getting a brief glimpse of paths not taken and where Wendy's family may have ended up. However they probably would not be Orthodox, so they may not be correct.            We continue to drive down to Hempstead and I found a parking lot by the Heath. We had gotten used to pay and display but this one was different and you had to do it through the phone and  it took us about a half hour to 45 minutes to figure out how to charge to the parking lot We finally  figured it out and started walking around Hempstead. It was a fun neat little town. We walked around and saw all the old houses. I followed a path more or less through a good part of the town. We ate lunch at an outdoor cafe. We walked down...

            Written on November 7th as memory is already fading . We got up in the morning and ate   breakfast at Cafe nero. Just coffee and a pastry. We then met Jeff and went to the subway and took the subway to the stop by the national gallery. We then went to the national gallery and spent several hours going through it. It was great. One of the great art museums. Saw so many paintings that are just so recognizable and that I've seen all my life. Particularly struck by the one of Tarleton which I have seen in several books and over the years. Also love the Van Gogh,. The turners ,the Hogarth's- just so many great paintings.  We then viewed Trafalgar square which was fun and still surprising that after all my trips here I've never seen it. I was surprised there weren't that many pigeons around. Don't know if the time of year or they cleaned it up. Then went back to the hotel and napped.              ...
